Wow Bob, that area looks delicious!

I'm working my way back to full health. I may have overdone it yesterday as I was absolutely beat today and took it easy.

You got it on CJCF, Sugar Hill plows an extension of Trumpet Round Rd for forest parking. Follow the gated road to the kiosk, head south on the skin track. Dog friendly. Let me know if you head up there.

Great to hear from freedan and telehubby, nice to have some additional comment and skiing photos! Bob, I was planning on heading up to where you were Saturday, but my ski partner talked me out of it. (If I had known you put in a skin track, that might have made the difference.) Anyway, we went up to Stowe, where the wind was howling and no summit lifts were running. Lift lines at the triple were reportedly over an hour. We skinned up from the top of the Toll House double, through increasingly gale force winds, and dropped into the Bruce. We weren't the first in, but it was still pretty damn good. Here's Manny showing fine form through over a foot of windblown powder.

That's some fine tight trail style, Dirk. Looks like you got the powder too. Less joy in the wind stiffened stuff. As you know, the first mile only brings you to the teeth of that climb. Fought grumpy solo trail breaker syndrome to the saddle before getting inspired by the setting and punching it to the top. Should have sent you a note and then arrived 30 minutes behind you! ;)

Glad you liked it! It's totally worth the fifteen minute climb. I may head back there this weekend if we develop a corn cycle that soon. For the next couple days its likely to be either bulletproof or mank.

Wow! Such pix!

The Zone was bountiful on Sunday. BCG was shralped by five, twice
First lap, at the top of the Ballroom section

Second lap stogie shot

The usual suspects with TGR mag Dangur in the orange helmet

Busted an instep strap on the way up for the first lap. BD strap to the rescue (pic taken at the end of the day)

That busted instep strap issue from Sunday:

Repairs affected Monday, in plugger style:

What is it with these straps?
All three of mine happened on the way up

Like your repair trick, RR. The ladder that just broke was just a little over a year old. Not impressed.

Booted up half a mile to continuous snow. Or so I thought. More logging slash that will eventually have to be cleaned up.

Plenty of firmed-up corn beyond that. Managed to have a little fun going too fast and then cranking opportunistic stops between trees. Should have been on skinnier skis. This tour was dog approved.

Moonless Butterfield k+g loop last night. More like stumble+zoom given the refrozen conditions. Looking down at a bridge railing. Plenty-o-snow.

quick shot of Gulf of Slides snowfield from Pinkham 2 days ago - completely filled in top to bottom - GOS snowfields and the east snowfields on the summit appear to be literally bulging with snow...convex...cheers to the winter of 2019!

It ain't over until you've been slacking it on Memorial Day Weeekend. 2019 Mount Washington Memorial Day BBQ and Slackfest, skiing, chillin, grillin on the Northeast Snowfields; ski you there.

Bring your cooler, load the kids into the old bus and give the Mount Washington Auto Road some business. Lawn chairs are optional. Tropical shirts, shorts and straw hats may be in evidence.

The Annual 10th Mountain Memorial Day Slalom will be set all three days (if the Otto Rhode is open). It's not a race, it is a way to remember.

The conditions continue to amaze. Saturday saw a couple of us skiing a double: nordic tour at Trapp's in the morning, then laps off the Stowe quad in the afternoon. Sunday, I spent the day at Mad River with Lee, who had a real breakthrough day. She was skiing bumps in Cat Bowl and Canyon better than she has in her life. So much fun.

Great shots, Dirk. Especially Lee in the bumps.

March 13th-> April 7th. Ephemeral!

Now a mile boot in to continuous snow. Got to link some turns, although won't be coming back this season due to the PITA approach/logging impact, and dwindling snow. Switching to MGR? Oakes?
