Love the eye-level cloud base/depth, benny.

Snow is really nice in the cleared parts of the woods in my zone. A bit of fluff on maybe a foot of refro. Not enough to go everywhere, but enough to play. Came across a 18' downed fir top last night. Didn't have a saw so hitched the whole thing to the pack and towed/slid it half a mile to the car.

Nice value-added ski tour, Bob. I got some twilight turns between the trees yesterday, though I did not bring any of them home with me. I figured I'd better get some before tomorrow's rain storm turns everything to crap.

Nice shot, Dirk. Poignantly beautiful out there right now due to all the sun, snow, and imminent doom. Forecasted rain totals are semi-biblical.

Last night zooming through the moon shadows. No headlamp. "Stupid" warning light on.

Five and a half hours of sleep is not enough. Nevertheless, went into GOS getting above 4500. Nice to get this view of Wildcat.

Lee And Chris went above the horizon, this is the view of the horizon from my high point.

I hope GOS holds on after the rain, fog and heat get done with it.

Old, not quite in the way.

RR, thanks for a proper send off to phase one of our winter. Haven’t surveyed the damage in my skiing haunts yet. Am fearing the rain sluices most. Domestically the early ground freeze kept the basement from flooding. Small consolation.

The rain did some serious damage, with a bulletproof crust where there's any base at all. But the Bolton area picked up a couple of inches both Saturday and Monday, more than anywhere else as far as I can tell. We skinned up the Wilderness Chair, and then poked around at elevation in the Paradise Pass/Stowe View area. It wasn't epic, but it was skiing. Trapps and Craftsbury also survived the meltdown in reasonably good shape.

Soggy start turned to snowy climb just 70 feet higher than AMC Pinkham. One and a half hours to Hojo's.

Was hoping to check out the Sherby all the way to the base of Little Headwall...no dice. Wide water crossing below the Hillman's junction. Transitioned there and went down. Big washout just below Hojo's. At the high crossover I cut back to the Tuckerman Highway.

Went back up to Hojo's and ran it again, continuing down to Pinks. Temperature fell making for a tough descent.

Little slow around here lately. We need some snow to up the enthusiasm level. Maybe this week. My daughter has taken a temporary position in Basel. My cousin's son is doing graduate work there as well so she has family close. She additionally has about 90 relatives in country between my uncles and aunts cousins and all the kids in her generation. She made it to the Bernese Oberland to ski in my mothers home town this weekend.

Gratuitous Photo, enjoy!

Yowza, TH. We're not in Kansas anymore.

RR and Dirk, thanks for helping keep things going until we get more snow.

Christmas eve Mt. Eustis reboots. Probably much better now.

Local food coop chose last Feb to send all round-up donations to Mt. Eustis which is really cool and a significant amount of dough!

Nice Bob! We ventured into the Bolton backcountry yesterday, and were surprised to find ourselves in a full-on blizzard that never really let up. There's a ton of snow up there, but also a lot of open water. A few minutes after this photo was taken, Manny busted through ice up to his boot tops, and we retreated uphill rather than navigate increasingly numerous watercourses. Hopefully today's cold temperatures will help set things up.
