It is spring skiing at the 'Chu.
I didn't make it to the hill until 7:30 last night so I missed the corduroy...which, based on the consistency of the snow, would have been epic.
The primary surface is fairly heavy loose granular, and by 8:00 it was piled up in speed robbing mounds of mush. It was fairly challenging to stay centered because the mush slowed you way down and the highly carveable exposed hard pack made the skis accelerate like a rocket.
In spite of the rain and warm weather the terrain is still very well covered. It would not surprise me to still be making reports into April
Get out wile you can. It will be mtn. biking season before you know it. |
