Mt Adams via Lowe's Path 03/07-08/2015

Skinned up to Gray Knob on Saturday morning. Lowe's Path had been well packed by snowshoers in single-file. Tough skinning once the trail got steep just below the Log Cabin, but I made it all the way without taking off skis. Almost no snow to be found on N, E, or W slopes above treeline, and not a huge amount on S slopes either. Must have been some wind. Skied the chute behind the hut (very wind-hammered) and settled in for a comfy night in the sleeping loft.

Sunday morning I sideslipped/snowplowed/sidestepped down Lowe's Path to the junction with Randolph Path, then followed the untracked Randolph Path (fun!) to Spur Brook (super fun!) to King Ravine Trail (the uphill slog out of Spur Brook is much longer and steeper than the map indicates) then linking back up with the lower angle section of Lowe's Path. I would have skied Spur Brook all the way out but the car was at Lowe's Store.
