Hillman's Highway area 04/25/2014

We started with a run down Duchess from the top. There was one small mandatory air to get though the first choke point, then a little bushwhack (skis on) to get through the second choke point. It might be skiable for a few more days, but not many.

Next we climbed up Dodge's Drop. The ice bulge was about 10 feet with unforgiving frozen conditions on the landing. A workaround on skier's left was possible through the brush, but not with skis on. We opted to continue climbing even though we would not ski it due to the bulletproof conditions. It might be the end of the season for Dodge's unless you walk around the ice bulge.

Hillman's Highway was in good shape. Lots of snow still in there. We were able to ski out the Sherburne Trail to the 2nd to last cut-through to the hiking trail, but the snow was melting fast past the mid-point of the trail.
