If the snow softens today (Sun. Mar. 6) there is the probability of lift serve access to some fun backcountry here. Ski trails, glades, and skiable hiking trails that meander thru open hardwoods and skid trails, and pitch back to the Ski Lodge or head to Rumford Whitecap, if you have the spirit and the time and probably scaled skis or skins. They have just enough cover in the woods (I think)(I do here in Greenwood). The cover is not thick but is basey and should not collapse....skiblackmountain.org $29 tickets ($15 fridays; Fri., Sat., Sun. only)
