Mohawk…..CT

Mohawk was pretty good today. They had about 5" of fresh, on top of their base. Today, they pretty much let it be. Not bad, at all, for Connecticut.
No doubt, they will groom for Saturday, but there was actual snow to ski through. GOOD for them. Last year, it seems they rolled every last trace of new stuff.

Does anyone know whether Mohawk allows skinning when they are closed?

They were closed today because of the winds. 2' feet of snow fell today, hopefully they don't groom before I get there. If the kiddo's school is cancelled, I'll ride the lift with the kids, but if they are at school, then I will be there at sunrise for some uphill and powder action. :D

I just got done with my driveway and what I pushed around was not powder.

Pray that they groom or you will be skinning and skiing on some nasty grabby glop.

It definitely was not nasty grabby glop, that's for sure. If nasty grabby glop is a 1 and powder is a 10, I would say it was around an 8, Powder with a thin heavy layer on top. I thought they did a good compromise of not grooming and grooming. Most of the trails had 1 line of groom (one snow cat width) and the rest was not groomed.

Wednesday was great. About 6 inches of fresh snow on the base. Made fresh tracks all morning, until people started showing up at 11. Sat. was nice soft packed powder with the warmer temperatures - another morning of good of skiing.
