The Maine Telemark Festival- February 23

Postby Biff » Mon Feb 04, 2008 6:02 pm

This is always a favorite festival for the NET folks and hopefully yours as well. The fest takes place at the Whitecap lodge area of Sunday river. With purchase of fest ticket (same price as regular ticket) fest participants can take out free demos all day long, take free clinics for all abilities and join in the bump contest (first prize is a pair of K2 skis). The costume contest will have a BIG prize so dress up!! Lots of great raffle items including skis and there will be a last chance raffle here on telemarkeast for a Ortovox avi beacon.

For more info go to www.netelemark.com or just ask questions here on the forum.

I of course will be there.

Are you coming on Friday or Thursday?

I will help you set up Friday afternoon.

I may enter the Mogul contest.

What will the classes be: the usual?

My friends Molly and Dean (who came two years ago and are now hooked) will be staying with us and coming to the fest. They are XC skiers who had never tele'd.....

It is always a great time

Eight to ten inches of fresh pow this morning.
It was amazing... :D

Vortex, Caramba, Wizard's, Tin Woodsman,
all in excellent condition!

Misting a bit right now, but we are supposed to
keep getting winter precipitation off and on for
the next few days. Good conditions at SR right now!

Alan, I'll be there Friday to ski and set up. Let's meet. Yea, classes are pretty much the same. I ad lib depending on how many instructors we have, conditions and how many people attend. We are hoping the mogul contest is on Tempest but it's up to SR. Right now they say they took the bumps down...

Ray, looks like things are looking good. More snow tomorrow and then a storm for the weekend.

See you there. Let us know where you think the bumps will be. I'll harrass my connections at the mountain to try to get the bumps on Tempest.

Yahoo . .. Bumps on Tempest and I'm bringing at least one crossover from Snowboarding. Who do I need to thank for the bumps on Tempest? See you there.

Alas, Biff, I will not be dragging myself and my father to the festival this year. They sort of bribed me with this whole "skiing in Vermont" thing. So now i'm sitting in a hotel rubbing my legs and dreaming about tomorrow's trip to either A) Sugarbush, B) Stowe, C) Mad River Glenn, or D) Smuggler's Notch. (Decision isn't made yet)
Good luck with it, I really wish I wasn't missing it..
in one way, that is....
for the next raffle, the first thing to be raffled off should be a large multicolored beer ticket that allows you to skip to the front of the inevitably incredibly long beer line.
