Alright campers: this Thursday at 6pm Mt. Eustis ski hill. 400 Mt Eustis Rd, Littleton, NH. Bring skins. Sometime thereafter, probably 7-ish cuz it will be getting dark, we'll invade Schillings.

I'm in, telehubby and Dirk too. Anyone who drives in from a "significant" distance gets a free beer. Maine, Mass, NY, way northern Vermont, and Stowe (wherever that is) qualifies.

Man, i'd love to make that date, sounds like a righteous event.
But I'd need more lead time, just so i can come to come up with a good excuse to pitch to my far better half.....

Well it happened. Bob, Dirk and I made it to Mt. Eustis. The Littleton High School Ski Team was having their end of the year banquet so the rope tow was running for half a dozen skiers or so. The coach was happy to let us skin up with dogs. The nice soft snow of the day was already hardening up which made for some funky skiing. Two laps were performed and Schilling was calling. Nice to finally connect Bob and great to see you again Dirk.
Beers were imbibed and food was eaten. It needs to happen again...

Likewise good to meet you, TH. And good to see Dirk again. We can only do better conditions wise for any re-gathering! Although Ruby might disagree due to being able to raid the Littleton HS ski team slopeside pizza banquet.

Some brookshwacking in the proto corn today.

It was indeed nice to meet up and do some perfunctory skiing before going for beers. That little rope tow hill was sweet - when I was a kid, almost every town in New Hampshire had one.

This photo is taken from the top of Knox Mountain, looking east toward Moosilauke. I was able to do this tour from my front door, using snowmobile trails for access. 20k round trip. Oof.

Actually, those are Vector BCs, from the year the Charger had a similar graphic. Still, wonderful skis.

Rising waters added a Plan C.

Plan A's 4 water crossings were going to be running as hard as the first one and with the fourth one being a killer if you fell, we bailed.

Plan B was pay the 9 dollars and skin a lap at Cannon. No go, skin path was closed.

Plan C: Schilling Beer Co. in Littleton. Flatbread and Beer seemed the best option.

Taking all the blame: I should have remembered the water crossings.

Whoops! Took a while to get around to this. Last weekend the second day of my fire school class got cancelled so on Sunday morning I took the puppy up to Baron's. I'd been looking at it all week and it sure looked fine. Turns out it was pretty sun cupped and harder than I would have thought. I started skinning at 7am.

The top had sat in the sun for a little bit and was soft in the right spots. Last turns of the year unless I can get a hall pass for slack fest.
