That looks nice!

My day was less fun, albeit satisfying. The October storm damage has been ameliorated:

Other storm damages also fixed up or made passable.

The brand new Waterfall Connector is now open from 3460' on the GF. The Connector drop-in (38 degrees) and exit (37 degrees) are both buffed out. The lower angle middle section of the glade is open but not yet beautiful.

Below the connector the Waterfall line has some downed trees but is wide enough to flow right on by. As of early October the waterfall itself (40-56 degrees) was unobstructed. The original, low-angle access tunnel from the col is really tight unless somebody had been up to buff it out.

Ski the East snowcast here. Juicy footage of recent deep pow at Jay. Perhaps the same storm Dirk was skiing?

Blue skies over Sterling Pond

Then the clouds rolled in

So I headed on down. I've been making the most of a negligible snowpack, but a big dump would sure be welcome.

Well, holy crap! It's winter out there somewhere. Thanks for the actual skiing pics and inspriration, Dirk!

Just back from Boulder where my daughters and I had substitute Thanksgiving. The youngest is stuck in an emergency medicine residency on the west coast so we flew out to somewhat middle ground.

Taken at 9800' just outside of Indian Peaks Wilderness near Eldora. What amazing terrain!

Sparks are flying in that first one!

I love shots like that. Just pure determination and grit, extracting every bit of whatever it is being pulled from the source.

We are supposed to get up to 6 inches tonight. I guess winter really is here.

Went for a golf course tour with Mrs RR. Nabbed a few turns on the hilly fairways. Seemed like 6" cover on the grass but the paved cart paths had only an inch or slightly more. We left before the warmup.

There's nothing especially awesome about this photo, but nobody's posted anything to this site in a whole week, so I guess some content is better than none. This was taken from the summit of Spruce Peak last week, before they opened the quad for the season. From left to right, Mansfield Nose, Chin, and Adam's Apple. The visible line on the far right is the Hell Brook drainage, which I haven't skied in about 20 years. I'm old enough now that I'm starting to say "Wonder if I'll ever ski that line again?" I like to think I will. . .

Yea Dirk, I actually went and did a test post just to see if the site was working....

I know what you mean about maybe getting so old you may never ski a certain line again. Getting there for sure.
