Ah ha! See? Oodles of grassy no trees elevation. A little cooperative wind loading and voila! The high country reminds me of above treeline Prezis with much less rock.

btw, beautiful country everywhere. Warm people that share an American sense of humor because so much of ours came from theirs. Great food. Particularly if you like potatoes and fresh fish! Craft whiskey, gin, beer, chocolate. At some point every evening the pubs cross over from traditional music tourist traps to wait, did that 75 year old guy just stand up and sing Wild Colonial Boy a cappella from the bottom his heart? Let’s drink to that! And did I mention the sheep?

I'm afraid to ask what you did with the sheep...

We were in Ireland exactly one year ago. Spent the whole time in a small town in Connemara called Roundstone and spent a lot of time in Clifton. My pictures all look like yours, gorgeous hills, green, and lots of sheep. Can't wait to go back.

Great photos Bob! I like the one of the winding lane disappearing down to the sea.

Like the light in the Camel's Hump pic, edge.

From this morning. Blazing beeches and birches. Thankfully the July 1st downpour closed this road and the forest service hasn't fixed it for some reason. Private running paradise. 1000' up in 3 miles. Accompanied by a brook the whole way for doggie thermo-regulation and thirst quench. Plenty of additional miles available for sport and/or supplemental knee damage.

Link to pro-photographer pics of Kinsman Notch fire here. Still smoldering in the duff as of yesterday. Mop-up teams operating. 2 miles of the AT still closed. Probably won't be totally out until snow.

Lafayette was frost-covered yesterday morning.

When I was on the Skyline I hiked for a bit with a gentleman from Alabama dong the LT. He asked me about those blue boxes 8' off the ground. Not a skier

Last gasp for foliage. With the advent of stick season, it's time for scouting lines and clearing blowdowns.
