Re-using binding holes?

Postby rockdaletj » Thu Dec 28, 2017 5:22 pm

I'm looking to swap out my 22 designs Vice for a pair of new Bishop BMFs that I just picked up. The bindings have the same hole pattern. Can I just remove the Vices and mount the Bishops? Any special prep ie. epoxy etc that I should do? I weigh over 200lbs with gear and ski aggreessively...the last thing I need is to rip a binding out.

I'd use a good (slow set) two part epoxy for the remount. If the holes are all good, that should be fine. If you find any screws don't feel secure on the 2nd mount ( they keep spinning and don't anchor solid), additional tweaking is required.

rockdale-

This is a perfect time to install some inserts. If you buy some Binding Freedom inserts, you can stop by my place some day after skiing and I can help you get them in your skis. I've got all of the taps and drivers and jigs and epoxy that you need and you are welcome to use all of it.

When you eventually decide to go NTN you can just unscrew the Bishops and bolt down some Outlaws...they are the same hole pattern as well.

Thanks :) The holes should be solid, maple core, but I'll double check. Never considered the insert option, maybe that would be a fun Saturday afternoon project. It would make sense as my quiver is in flux, and may want to put NTN or an Axl on this ski in the future. All same hole pattern. We need to hook up and make some turns anyway Gofish
